The first Dojo of Rincon Puerto Rico was founded in the year 1975.This was in the second floor of the corner between road 115 & road 413.At that time we were in the Shaolin-Tsu-Kempo Chinese Boxing Fed. Sitaigun Mariano Rivera was President of that Federation then.Sifu Luis Hernandez Ramos was my Sifu then & we trained the Kajukembo techniques under the name of: JU-KA-KUNG-KEMPO of P.R.Inc.Our emblem was the octagonal twin dragon you see in the wall.The students you see in this pic are:Hector Ruiz;Juan Carlos Bonet;Santiago Gonzalez & Cliford.The one in Kung-Fu Sam is me;Sifu Agustin Saltares(20 years then). Now I'm 45 years young & my sons are the Black Belts incharged.The flag you see in the students Sams or uniforms is the National puertorican flag.Those old times were the best. Here you can see me fighting in a point tournament in the town of Aguadilla.This was in the year 1975 & was sponsored by Mariano Rivera,a Shaolin-Tsu- Kempo Master then & my ex-sifu.You can see Sifu Luis Hernandez Ramos with white t-shirt & I'm punching the guy while he hides but got it with uppercut.This was part of the Chuan'Fa learned from my Sifu then Luis Hernandez.Sitaigung Rivera is the one in tank-top to your left side.I'm the one in red Kung-Fu Sam or Gi with black trim.This Sam I still have with me from the year 1975 when my mother Genoveva Moreno did it for me.You could not get such nice uniforms then.As you can see,no head gear or protection in those days.It was harder than today.I should say that it was a kind of fullcontact type of tournament but the more points you could make in three minutes.Crazy but we had a lot of fun then.If you wish more pics on those days action,write to:[email protected] | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The words Chuan'Fa/Gung-Fu or KUng-Fu were brought | to Puerto Rico once more by Sifu Al J.Dacascos & Sifu Bill Owens in the year 1998 when they visited Rincon Puerto Rico(U.S.A)for a Seminar with the J.K.K.K.of P.R.Inc.groups in the west coast.Sifu Owens had visited our Island in the years 95 & 96 but Sifu Dacascos visited Puerto Rico for the first time in the history of Martial Arts in this paradise called Puerto Rico.The picture you see here was taken at their departure on December 1rst;1998 at my house here in Rincon P.R.The emblem in the backgrownd is the original J.K.K.K.of P.R.Inc.patch or group logo.This has been with us since the year 1975 when our Sifu then,Luis Hernandez Ramos fashioned it with the basic Kajukenbo colors,shape & meaning.Since 1991 we are under Sifu Bill Owens from Oakland California(the one in wright)& Sifu Al J.Dacascos (in left side).Sifu Hernandez is handicaped at the present time in Orlando Florida.We want to keep his twin dragon emblem & colors & we are learning new concepts each day with our two Masters now;Sifu Dacascos & Sifu Owens.If you wish more pics about this experiences we had with our Sifus from year 1991 to 1998,write to:[email protected]
